Ever considered yourself “self-sufficient” with business stuff and still felt that you are unable to manage the company financials?

OR

Ever felt grumbled about paying taxes every spring?

You’re not the only ONE who faces the above problems!

A lot of people feel similarly, that’s why companies require a professional accountant to watch out for their accounts and bookkeeping. It is not easy to manage cash in-flow and out-flow without professional help. These are critical pieces to your business that must be handled with care, but it’s not what your business does. Spending time on these things at the expense of delivering your product/service is detrimental. Outsourcing an accounting company to manage the financial accounts of your business will be highly beneficial.

Accounting professionals always stay abreast with the tax laws and amendments, thus making the business function smoothly.

Who to look for?

Hiring an accountant or an accounting company is a task in itself. Qualified professionals are capable of managing the accounts well. ACA, ACCA, and CIMA-qualified accountants can handle tricky and complex situations. Whereas, AAT qualified professionals can be hired in case of basic financial accounting and book-keeping. It is also preferred to have a background check and client reference before hiring an accounting company.

When to watch out?

There is no such right time for hiring an accountant. One should understand the business requirements and work environment before hiring one. Outsourcing is a critical decision to be made and must be done only after analyzing all sorts of limitations attached to it.

What do they do?

An accountant primarily handles the finances of a business. To dig in, they do the following things:

  1. Record-keeping/Book-keeping — Recording all the financial transactions
  2. Financial Advice — Advising about amendments and financial growth measure
  3. Tax preparation — Filing correct tax payments and refunds
  4. Payrolls and bills — Ensuring payment of bills and payrolls on time

Points to consider?

  1. Understand your business/company

A person needs to understand the needs of a business, before hiring an accounting company. The size of the company, big or small will be a deciding factor as to which level of professional will be required to assist your business type.

2. Look out for experienced and well-versed accountants

The accountants must be certified and well-aware of all the latest amendments. He/she must be aware of the work environment to understand your business better.

3. Find out which software they operate

Gone are those days when accounting was managed in papers. Accountants use the proper software to manage their accounts and keep records of the same. Before sharing the financial data with anyone, one must ensure the software is risk-proof.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Sometimes it’s not just having an accountant, but having one who is serious about taking the time to do it right. No matter how much we bothered our past accountants about going through all the bad entries over the years, they just never got around to it.

Planning and strategizing the business needs help in attaining business goals faster. Thus, one must choose wisely.

A GOOD ACCOUNTANT WILL NOT ONLY SAVE YOUR MONEY BUT ALSO SAVE YOU FROM DOING WRONG!
